Greetings Parents/Caretakers,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! Our staff is excited about the astronomical achievements that our Astros scholars have aimed for this school year. We are particularly proud of our fourth graders who increased academic performance by improving by ten points in reading! Our goal this year is to ascertain growth in all content areas across all grade levels!

The following is general information for this year. If you have any questions or concerns, we will address them during the student orientation, or you may call the school between the hours of 8:00-4:30 Monday-Thursday. Important information for parents, including a school supply list, can also be found on the Aldine website AldineISD.org under Parents.

Student Orientation

MONTESSORI / All 1st Graders: August 14, 4-5:00 PM
2nd, 3rd and 4th Graders: August 15, 4-5:30 PM

  • Homeroom assignments and bus routes will be posted. There will be a short presentation in the cafeteria at 4PM on each day before meeting the teachers. Please keep in mind that on orientation evening, many classrooms may not be completely ready.
  • Students not attending orientation will receive their room assignment and bus route on the first day of school.
  • Parents of returning students are not required to attend, but certainly are welcome.
  • If you plan to visit your student’s classroom on the first day of school, you will receive a ticket during orientation so that we may hopefully avoid long lines and heavy traffic. Note: All classroom visits on the first day will end by 9:15 AM in order to begin instruction!

Arrivals and Dismissal

School starts on August 20, 2019. The building will be open at 7:45 a.m. every day for early car riders. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate any students before 7:30. Parents may elect to utilize our community’s day care services or carpool if necessary. Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 8:45 a.m. for car riders. Breakfast for bus riders continues until all buses have arrived. Car riders arriving after 8:50 a.m. are tardy and a parent must escort the child into the building for a tardy pass.

Dismissal will begin at 4:10 p.m. for car riders. Bus riders are dismissed beginning at 4:10 p.m. Please remember that most bus routes are delayed during the first two weeks of school. Car rider lines and traffic will be heavy as well, so please plan accordingly. Thanks in advance for your patience!

On the first day of school, students are asked to be at their bus stop by 7:15 a.m. After the first few days, once bus routes are firmly established, students may be notified by their bus driver to arrive at their bus stop at later times. All students must wear identification tags during the first two weeks of school. Tags are provided by the school, or parents may make their own tags if the school tag is lost. During the first week of school, students often arrive home a little later than usual due to added students on the route, new bus routes, and new bus drivers. Please do not become alarmed.

If your address has changed since last school year, it will be necessary to come to Anderson before school begins to complete a change of address with the registrar.

School Supplies

  • A list of elementary grade supplies can be found on the Aldine website under “Parents
  • Copy paper - We are always in need of copy paper throughout the year. If you would like to donate a ream of paper please purchase white Multi-Use Paper (500 sheets, 20 weight, 8.5 x 11 inches).
  • Donations - If you are employed with a company that would like to donate paper, school related supplies, or become a Anderson Business Partner please contact me at [email protected]
  • Backpacks - All backpacks must be clear or mesh.

Dress Code

Anderson Academy is a standardized dress school. All students are required to be in uniform Monday through Friday. Shirts are tucked in at all times except when students are in PE. All bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts) are navy, black or khaki. Shorts and skirts must be at the appropriate length, which is approaching the knee.

Anderson Astros shirts will be sold during orientation for $10 (correct change, please)!

Queridos padres o tutores,

Bienvenidos a nuestro ciclo escolar 2019-2020! Nuestro personal está entusiasmado con los logros astronómicos que nuestros Astros estudiantes han apuntado para este año escolar. ¡Estamos particularmente orgullosos de nuestros alumnos de cuarto grado que aumentaron el rendimiento académico al mejorar en diez puntos en lectura! Nuestro objetivo de este año es determinar el crecimiento en todas las áreas de contenido en todos los grados escolares!

Lo siguiente es una información general para este ciclo escolar. Si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud lo abordaremos durante la orientación, o si prefiere puede llamar a la escuela entre las horas de 8:00 a 4:30 p.m. de lunes a jueves. Información importante para los padres, incluyendo la lista de útiles escolares la puede encontrar en la pagina de internet de Aldine AldineISD.org bajo padres.

Orientacion Estudiantil

MONTESSORI / 1er Grado – Agosto 14 de 4 a 5 PM
2do a 4to Grado – Agosto 15 de 4 a 5:30 PM

  • Se publicaran los salones de clase y las rutas de autobuses. Habra una breve presentacion en la cafeteria antes de reunirse con los profesores. Por favor tenga en cuenta que en la orientacion muchos salones de clase no estaran completamente listos.
  • Los estudiantes que no asistan al dia de la orientacion recibiran su numero de clase y su ruta de autobus el primer dia de clases.
  • Si planea visitar la clase de su hijo/a el primer dia de escuela, recibira un boleto durante la orientacion para evitar largas filas. Nota: Todas las visitas a los salones de clase el primer dia terminara a las 9:15 AM para asi empezar con la instruccion de nuestros estudiantes.

Entrada y salida

La escuela comienzara el 20 de Agosto del 2019. La escuela abriras sus puertas a las 7:45 am para los estudiantes que llegan carro. Por desgracia no tenemos cabida a los estudiantes antes de las 7:45; sin embargo, sabemos que muchos padres utilizaran los servicios de guarderia o el trasnporte escolar. El desayuno comienza a las 8:00 a.m. y termina a las 8:45 a.m. para los estudiantes que lleguen en carro. El desayuno para los estudiantes que llegan en el transporte escolar estara disponible hasta que todos los autobuses hayan llegado. Los estudiantes que lleguen en carro depues de las 8:50 a.m. estaran tarde y el padre o tutor debera acompanar al estudiante a la escuela para firmar y recibir un pase de tardanza.

Salida comenzara a las 4:10 p.m. para los estudiantes que usan transporte de carro. Los estudiantes que usan el transporte escolar la salida sera a las 4:10 p.m. . Por favor recuerde que la mayoria de las rutas del transporte escolar se retrasan durante las dos primeras semanas de escuela. Las lineas de vehiculos y el trafico tambien sera pesado, asi que tome sus precausiones. Gracias de antemano por su paciencia!

El primer dia escolar, se pide a los estudiantes estar en la parada de autobus a las 7:15 a.m. Despues de los primeros dias, ya que las rutas de autobus sean establecidas los estudiantes seran notificados por el conductor del autobus la hora a la que deberan esperar por el autobus. Todos los estudiantes deberan usar las targetas de identificacion durante las primeras dos semanas de escuela. Las etiquetas son proporcionadas por la escuela o los padres puedes hacer sus propias etiquetas en caso de que se pierda. Durante la primera semana de clases los estudiantes llegaran a casa un poco mas tarde de lo habitual debido a las nuevas rutas y nuevos conductores de autobuses. Por favor no se alarme.

Si su direccion ha cambiado desde el ano pasado, sera necesario ir a Anderson antes de que empiece el ciclo escolar ha hacer los cambios correspondientes con la registradora.

Lista de Utiles Escolares

  • La Lista de Utiles Escolares la puede encontrar en la pagina de Aldine en “Padres.
  • Papel para copias – Siempre estamos necesitando papel durante el ciclo escolar. Si ustesd quisiera donar un paquete de papel , favor de comprar papel multiuso blanco (500 hojas, peso 20, 8.25 x 11 pulgadas).
  • Donaciones – Si son empleados de una empresa que quisiera donar papel, material escolar, o convertirse en un socio comercial de Anderson favor de contactarme en [email protected]
  • Mochilas – las mochilas deberán ser transparentes o de malla.
